The Ping Pong Fight Club Tour sponsored by Tsingtao Beer returns to the city on 26th April at Camp and Furnace event space and already a host of the city’s businesses have signed up to the fun-filled team building and networking event
Want to settle an old score with a rival company? Why not do it over the ping pong table and challenge them to take part at Ping Pong Fight Club! From maverick start-ups to sector leaders hundreds will compete, play and party alongside their work colleagues with a chance to walk off with the ultimate bragging rights of the city, to be crowned ‘Ping Pong Fight Club Champions’. There is also the chance to win a pro tennis table from sponsor Tsingtao Beer.
Sign-ups to date include; The International Business Festival, Signature Living (who will also be entering Ping Pong Fight Club’s first all-female team), PH Creative, Santander, GW Legal, Fletchers Law, MAST and current holders Tetrad Discovery, with many more to announced over the coming days.
It’s not just about the tournament, Fight Club has an action packed night of entertainment planned including; social ping pong zones for ‘friendly’ grudge matches, ping pong robots (yes you read that correctly!), buddy up inter-company doubles tournaments, DJs, tips, tricks and exhibition play from the Fight Club pro’s, speed ping pong networking, pop-up bars, face-painters for ‘butterflies and battle scars’, street food stalls, and Tsingtao’s famous Beer Pong Championships.
The Ping Pong Fight Club 2018 Tour will take place across six UK cities, including Liverpool, Leeds, London, Manchester, Cardiff and Bristol, making it one of the UK’s leading national employee engagement, team building and business networking events.
Over 1,200 employees participated in the 2017 tour and this year over 3,000 are expected to take part in Ping Pong Fight Club’s biggest event so far. Winners will meet in a ‘Tournament of Champions’ in April 2019 where companies will battle for the national crown.
Each company fields a team of 4 players that compete in the group rounds (Champions League style) with the top two players qualifying for the main knockout tournament. For those ping pong gladiators that don’t make the cut there is the ‘Chancers Championships’ and another second crack at glory. Every point won counts towards the overall Team Championships and inclusion in the Ping Pong Fight Club ‘Hall of Fame’.
The idea behind Ping Pong Fight Club is that it is totally inclusive, meaning everyone from the intern to the CEO is part of the action with the chance to attend and cheer on their company team from the side lines in style.
There are a range of packages to suit every size of company from ‘The Lightweight’ (up to 10 supporters and 4 team players) to ‘The Rookie’ (up to 30 and 4 team players) – all include a bottle of complimentary Tsingtao Beer, bespoke company Fight Club t-shirts, PPFC headbands and merchandise.
Organiser and founder of PPFC, Ade Leigh, said:
“We are thrilled that Fight Club is kick starting its 2018 tour in Liverpool. Last year’s event in the city was unforgettable and the city’s competitive and fun spirit was clear to see.
“Ping Pong Fight Club encourages team building and employee engagement in a fun and energetic way. Teams and friendships are forged while at the same time companies can network without any air of stuffiness.”
