Doing it for the boys! LtoR: Oscar Hayden and Brian Comer

Thirty Three students of Van Netten Performing Arts (VNPA) performed on stage at Hope Street’s Frederik’s in the city centre on Sunday showcasing their amazing talent.

Students were split into age groups for two shows that saw the venue packed out as families and friends queued up to see them live on stage.

Session one featured students from the ages of 7 up to 11 with Hope Wilson opening the show with her powerful rendition of ‘If only you would listen’ from School of Rock The Musical.

Beckie Price, Director of VNPA, said:

“We have so much talent here at VNPA and I couldn’t be prouder of our students. They have worked towards this showcase all year alongside juggling work on audition preparation and singing exams. Since last year’s showcase, I have seen their confidence develop and the end product at the showcase on Sunday blew us away.

“All of the students taking part take one2one singing tuition at VNPA at our studio off Allerton Road.”

“It’s so important to us to get them out of their normal environment and show them off to a live audience”.
